Communicating with others
We know that most of our communication is nonverbal. Horses help us to replace ambiguous, unintended, or ineffective communication with that which clarifies our intentions while also listening well with others. In this session we explore our own communication effectiveness, empathy with others, boundaries, and the relational skills of trust, respect, and acceptance.
Our activities with the horses in this session include using nonverbal communication, energy and boundaries, grooming and empathy, and making requests. All activities are done on the ground and followed by discussion and reflection.
